Howitt Middle School's sixth grade came together to share projects they created that carry out the #dalerstrong message. These projects were inspired by Varsha Bajaj's novel, Count Me In, which all sixth graders read this year. In the story, a family experiences a tragedy. In response, their entire community comes together to show their support. When tragedy simultaneously struck ae888 on September 21st, we all saw real-life examples of how a community can come together in a time of crisis. The impact of kindness, love, and friendship is tremendous, and the students' projects carry that message.

In October, students from all of our school buildings gathered together to participate in All Abilities Walks, where they enjoyed the beautiful weather and showed their support for diverse learning abilities.

Then, on Sunday, October 8th, the ae888 community came together at Jones Beach for the annual Autism Speaks Walk. This walk is the largest global fundraising event that is aimed at improving the lives of those with autism and developing solutions for the future. The event unites individuals with autism, their families, friends, and caregivers, as well as providers who offer support. The funds raised from this event go towards innovative research and lifelong services. We are proud to say that our Daler team participated in this event, and that ae888 High School senior, LiBretto, designed this year's shirt.
